Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 10, 2026
Sermon Catalog ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Strickland Digital LLC. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service at sermoncatalog.org.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name (if provided via Google sign-in). We use Amazon Cognito for authentication.
Church & Sermon Data
We store church profile information, sermon metadata, transcripts, and AI-generated analysis that you provide or that we generate from your connected feeds.
YouTube Data
If you connect your YouTube channel, we access your account solely to read captions and video metadata from your videos. We do not modify, delete, or upload any content to your YouTube channel. We store an encrypted OAuth refresh token to maintain this connection. You can disconnect YouTube at any time from your dashboard, which revokes our access and deletes the stored token.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Usage Data
We collect anonymous usage data (search queries, page views) via Google Analytics to improve our service. We also log search and chat queries to improve result quality.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Sermon Catalog service
- To transcribe and analyze sermons from your connected feeds
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
- To improve our service quality and AI analysis
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States. Sensitive credentials (YouTube tokens) are encrypted using AWS KMS. Database connections use SSL encryption. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers: AWS (hosting), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (transcription/embeddings), Anthropic (AI analysis), Google (YouTube API, authentication)
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights
Your Rights
You can:
- Access and export your data by contacting us
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
- Disconnect third-party services (YouTube) at any time from your dashboard
- Revoke Google access via your Google Account permissions
Google API Services User Data Policy
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use YouTube data to read captions for sermon transcription.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on our website.
